I started reading this at work and a few sentences in I stopped so that I could read this while on my lunch break. I’m so glad I did. Thank you for writing this- extending his story to more people, and for highlighting the very essence of what it means to live. “And that’s the beauty of being human: you live with this dreadful knowledge and still try to live anyway.” - made me tear up. Beautiful words 🫶🏼
Wow. Parnika, this made me tear up. It also made me want to go have a dance party with myself, to scream like nobody's watching, and write that essay I've been putting off, etc. Life is short and too short for nearly everybody. Thank you for articulating the feeling of fragility that at one point or another dawns on someone's life and really puts things into perspective.
I write about grief too, and would love to connect to read more of each others' work. <3
thank you so much for reading, i am glad something i wrote moved you. and I will definitely check out your work. appreciate your words and time you took out to read. 🙏🏻
Wow that was so captivating. I only intended to read a few lines but had to stop to get through the whole thing. I love reminders that all we’re here for is what we can experience with these five senses. And tomorrow isn’t promised for anyone even though the world never stops spinning. Very engaging read, thank you.
Wowwwww , just wowww , your words seem to capture grief perfectly your analogy of grief being a circular staircase is soo goood , i dont know if it is yours but the way you connected that analogy with your experience of grief is what i will take away from this essay , great stuff , really thank you for writing this!!!
Some lives burn briefly, but they illuminate generations, beforehand, during, and afterward. I think life should not be measured in years, but awareness. He might never see another Diwali here, in the now, but he will again through his words, how he loved and others loved him, and on another plane.
Light travels farther than time. The more we study life, reality, the more we see that death isn’t an ending, but a transition. Like George Harrison said, getting out of one car and into another. A soul can become too big for its body, which we shed as we are reborn...
